Writer/director Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a sprawling, incident- and character-packed extravaganza that picks up at the end of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens and guides the series into unfamiliar territory.
Star Wars: Episode IX, the followup to Last Jedi, has been scheduled for a December 2019 premiere.

The Last Jedi reunites the protagonists from Star Wars 7, the reformed stormtrooper Finn, Jedi-in-training Rey, their adversary Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker. Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but The Last Jedi is the sequel to 2015's The Force Awakens and picks up moments after Episode VII.
